Never let the sun set on an argument
Don't go to bed with an angry heart
I can see that I am walking on a wire
The pressure's rising, I can't look around
I can't look down and see
Just how far I've come
My heart cries to You in this, my descent
I've come through writer's block tonight, Lord
I've risen above the pain, but my heart...
Is begging to be released from struggle
Please don't watch me fall
Please don't let me fall
I'm praying for mercy from the torment
From the thoughts of unworthiness and strife
I know I'm Yours, I know I'm Your child
And You'll catch me if I fall
But don't let me fall...
I'm praying for Your presence, Lord
I'm into the fire now, burning eternally
Flaming bright for Your righteousness
And I'd give anything for Your peace upon me now
My heart cries to You in this, my acceptance
I've come though much more than this, Lord
I've fallen and climbed back up, but my heart...
Is praising for the gift of understanding
You won't watch me fall
You won't let me fall
You can see me tread upon the wire
The pressure's falling, I can look around
I can look up and see
How much more I've yet to do...
This sun shall set with agreement
This head shall rest with Your unending peace...

Beautiful
My wonderful friend, Sector-Hunter, told me to check out your page, and I can truly see why! This is a beautiful and heartfelt prayer to the Lord. One that, while allowing the reader to feel your pain and struggle, also shows the love that you have for your Heavenly Father, and that you are secure in that love that He has for you! It acknowledges that struggle, without bemoaning the circumstances. Simply a child crying out to that trusted Father, with the assurance that He'll comfort and take care of you. The picture of a close and abiding relationship with Him. Beautiful work, Poet.

This is one of the best poems I have seen on this site. I think if you put this to music with your voice people would pay to hear it
. Very deep the Lord can see you through so many things. I am seeing that now with things in my life. I hope all your days get better and better, great work SH
