The night is shattered by the dawn
Letting loose the singing birds of the morning
Dripping crimson that glows with such brawn
Leaking into the ocean’s water
Like the blood of a maturing daughter
Something you accept but still find disgusting
And never miss, even when it is gone
That little speck that started life
Made from two but loved by many
But you ripped it out with a knife
A little child that never was
The manifestation of all your flaws
A human no larger than a penny
But, you think this world is becoming rife
She dreamt of them every night
Like an uninvited visitor
Whose presents always fills you with delight
Breathing as one, held by a string
All the joy and pain they bring
But their life was cut, their blood she wore
The baby’s soul flew away like a kite
