No matter how many times I walk away,
You always bring me back.
You wrap loving arms around me.
In Your embrace, I will stay.
For at the foot of the Cross,
I find shelter from the storm.
The mountains are so high,
The valleys are so deep,
The rivers are so wide,
But none can compare to how much You love me.
The river's current raging,
Mimics my racing heart,
When I feel Your presence near,
And see Your mighty Cross.
The wounds You bore for me,
The pain You endured,
And yet Your scars set me free.
The love You gave us,
The love You give us,
Always guiding us,
Even when we abandon You.
You cared then,
You care now.
Even in the darkness,
Your hand I will always hold.
Father, we betray You.
Father, we shun You.
Father, we abandon You.
Father, we hung You.
Yet You forgive us,
And welcome us back home
With loving arms,
Holding us close.
Father forgive us
For all that we've done.
Because of our nature,
We are separate from the One.
The One who loves us.
The One who watches over us.
The One who cares for us.
The One who died for us.
Forgive us, Lord,
For we are but mere sinners.
Forgive us, Lord,
And wipe us clean with the Blood.
The Blood that was shed for me.
The Blood from Calvary.
