The Taste of Ink

I'll savor every moment
Of this freedom that you gave me
From the sea of endless lonely hearts
Stealing me, dragging me under.

Feeling alive isn't how I thought it would be.
You know my flaws
And still think I'm pretty,
Even as we face this city
Full of people who don't think we'll make it.

As long as you're alive beside me,
As long as you still care,
I'll never taste the ink black sadness;
Hand in hand we'll make a heaven,
And I know that you will take me there.

    Oh wow. Beautiful poem. I loved this. Reading this made me feel like I was experiencing it right there with you. It takes a strong writer to do that. Great writing!
