There is not a single person in this world that has had a perfect, easy, “cake walk” life. Each one of us has had our own things that we have seen and dealt with. Some people get through things rather quickly. It as if they hit bump in the road. They fall and hit there butt. Not long after they stand up, brush off the dirt and move on. Looking back only to see how they can learn and grow from that bump.
Others when traveling down the road hit many of the same bumps. The difference is that they pick themselves with out brushing the dirt off; whether by choice or by not knowing how. They keep going, after each bump they hit it gets harder and harder. The dirt is piling up and know they have been blinded can’t see the path they are on. They are stumbling around causing them to get off the path. They keep going thinking they are on the path but in time they fall of a cliff. They are now at the bottom. They look up to see that the top is so far out of reach that it seems like there is no hope to ever get back on track. They try to start climbing; all the dirt is still there. On their way up they try and grab for edges of rock to help them up. Some of these hold, but many break off, causing them to fall back down. Also, on the way up rocks and stones come down. They try to knock them away but many of them hit them and cause them to fall again. The top seems to get more and more hopeless. They start wondering if they will ever get out of this pit.
There is still hope for all those in the pit. They need to find the right spots to grab onto; the ones that will support them and catch them when they fall again. They need to learn how to battle the falling rocks and stones. From there, they will have the support and weapons they need to shed the dirt and climb to the top. The top is getting closer and closer. It isn’t as hopeless as once viewed. Once out of the pit, the dirt has been shed and they can clearly see again to find there way back on the path. There is ALWAYS a way back to the path.
Author notes
Not a poem but more of hope for those suffering with depression. I have been down that road and it is very scary and there is hope.
