A cure for black eyes

Walking through the heavy crowd
I push aside every broken soul
All the expressions so empty
For lives have been put on hold

With ash trays for the willing
And black eyes for the damned
All their red brick houses
Built on wide open sand

Abandoned at their breaking point
With feelings pushed aside
Made to except the facts
Every honest man will lie

All the perfect saints will sin
And free will be locked away
Soon they'll find enlightenment
To get them through each day

Some have found the bottle
While others found the pipe
But with every antidote
I've found only one gives life

A cure for the loneliness
All the lies and pain
Something to fill the empty hearts
And place color between the gray

I'm told he's a stone of stumbling
The savior of the damned
Who can wash all your sins away
Sitting on God's right hand

He's for the stressed and the abandoned
And has the light to guide your way
Through shadows meant to destroy
To heaven's golden gates

He's for the lonely and forsaken
For in a moment he was too
He carried his cross to die for us
So he could carry us through

At a time I thought I was alone
Till I discovered a loving peace
And now he lives in my heart
So for once I'm no longer lonely

    Beautiful Truth!!!!!

This is so profoundly true!!!! Our savior suffered the most lonely, desolate time one could imagine. When most turned their backs on him and called for him to be crucified, but none so profound as how lonely he must have felt when God, his father had to turn his eyes from him because he could not look upon our sins his son Jsus carried on the cross for us...That was loneliness at its highest!!!! I think sometime, alot of the time we forget about that and boy, does it make me feel selfish now feeling the way I do when Jesus suffered so much more than I!!!! Thanks for helping me to once again put things into perspective!!!!Thanks for your entry and the best of luck in my contest!!!~~~Toni~~~
