The illusion is an impressive façade.
Only slow the poison, don’t slay it,
The tornado hasn’t decided where to touch down.
There’s a familiar stranger at every crossroads.
Forever laughs while the wolves howl.
Can’t you taste the truth?
The eternal observers are always at feast.
Like one great family spanning centuries
And beyond, we are not that different.
Come one, come all,
Pick up your one true Excalibur
And speak with me.

This was a wonderful poem to chew upon and enjoy!
and very appropriate for AMERICA right now...
as there are many right now
who are pretending to be magicians
pulling rabbits out of empty hats...
and those who are using swords
upon those who have no shields.
(insurance companies)
and what do each want....
Freedom, Happiness and
Peace...BLESSED ...PEACE!
WELL DONE!

impressive and no facade...
cool write - we are all connected and share a communal fate. our sword - conversation and true connection. love the lines:
"Only slow the poison, don’t slay it,
The tornado hasn’t decided where to touch down.
There’s a familiar stranger at every crossroads."

There is such wisdom here.......
ok...i have said this before....
but really...one of your best here....
Here...the sword of excellence and intellectual thinking....
..Forever laughs while the wolfs howl.....
You know i love that ......
i also think this line contributes a great deal to the overall meaning...
..Like one great family spanning centuries
..and beyond, we are all different...
Like every thinking man and great observer ..i think it tells us to
communicate with our brothers and sisters....try and reach out to make the world better...
...can't you taste the truth.....?
Gives me... anyway....the feel that we are so close to understanding one another
without destrying one another first.
This was just my slant.....
I love it!

A poem I didn't really understand.
Its very orignial and probably takes a person with a bit of background knowledge to read it.
But i liked this line "Can’t you taste the truth?
The eternal observers are always at feast."
Very descriptive.
What is an Excalibur? -
Very nice. You are one of the unsung talents of this site & I often run across your work by near happy accident. My favorite line is:
"Only slow the poison, don’t slay it,"
I'm not certain why but it seems reminiscent of the idea that one begins to die from their first breath. Probably off target a ways but this is what it drew out of me! In any case, as usual, thank you for sharing your work.

Lovely
I enjoyed this. My favorite is the end. -
the second stanza feels a little rough... but overall, it was a good read. This is my favorite line, 'Forever laughs while the wolves howl.' very descriptive of the cruel hand fate often plays
