from george

as you turn to leave, my love goes with you,
remember for a while, all we did was smile, always going that extra mile,
until the anger stifled us,
then every day, was sombre grey, once the laughter faded away,
go your own way with my blessing, may your action give you peace,
we've walked a long, long road, now i need to reat my feet.

as you turn to leave, my love goes with you,
close this door, it's not we any more, now it's one not four,
the quartet that stifled us,
is over now, we took our bow, we knew it had to end somehow,
go your own way with my blessing, may your imagination give you peace,
we've walked a long, long road, now i need to rest my feet.

as you turn to leave, my love goes with you,
now i see, i am now free, to write my songs for me,
the arguments that stifled us,
came to test, did we try our best ?, now they may be laid to rest,
go your own way with my blessing, may mother mary give you peace,
we've walked a long, long road, now i need to rest my feet.

as you turn to leave my love goes with you,
i share the blame, we weren't the same, once we paid the price of fame,
the pressure that stifled us,
storms to weather, too close together, nothing this good could last forever,
go your own way with my blessing, may my lord give me peace,
we walked a long, long road, now i need to rest my feet.

as you turn to leave my love goes with you,
may our new lives bring us peace,
we have walked a long, long road,
now it's time for us to cease.

Author notes

d o o d l e b u g , i have been listening to george harrison's "all things must pass" again recently, and his music inspired this, i felt it may have been how he viewed the break up, sad but hopeful, of a new futurefor all of them.

This is priceless. I like to think this is how he felt as well. I love the repeated lines, they really work well within the entire poem and give it a good pace. I have not heard all things must pass in a while and this really makes me want to hear it again. Thanks for this wonderful piece.

    peace
