Aloud I wail............
You wrap your cloaked emotion taut?
despite my pleading lovers stance
which as disguised fidelity
awaits to guard your fragile soul .
Aloud I wail and ponder
it's worth all pain and scorn
oh slip away and wonder
as darkness welcomes me
take advantage while you may
for time is never free,
pay you must, name your fee
for this is all you get.

I feel you here. Love at any cost, is the pleasure worth the pain? The time spent working/waiting on relationships is something to consider as well. Very well written and thought provoking.

I love the imagery.

Friend...I feel your pain in this write..The pain of rejection speaks loudly through these lines...well penned!

Mmmm!
A very interesting and well written poem, I like it a lot. People shouldn't be taking advantage, nobody puts up with it forever...as you rightly say.

Wow, just as the prompt suggests, in the love commandment, you get close enough to let your heart be soft, open, receptive, but getting close to God it has to be guarded from turning to stone. Well done. Blessings.
