My Strange Self

I’ll admit it—I watched Teletubbies as a child
With distinct and utter fascination
Because I wanted a TV on my stomach.
And I happened to hold in the highest honor
My sacred Ken doll, because he bagged the
Hottest hottie in the history of hot plastic.
I wore the flashiest light-up Velcro shoes
You ever did see until I was 13.
They all said I was weird
But I knew they were wrong.
Nowadays, I guess I haven’t changed much.
When my kids celebrate their birthday,
I enjoy dressing up like a clown and running around.
Is that cool with you?
Because it’s cool with me.
