Vanity.

Part of it makes me angry, another makes me cringe.
I can't believe the vanity emitting from your soul...

I use to think that everything, the whole world, revolved around me.
I soon lost that mentality when I saw how hurtful it could be.

I don't understand how you could be so vain,
No one here ever raised you that way.
I've known you since before you were three,
I hope you soon grow out of this vanity.

And you know, I cannot blame just one, because it's not just you.
It's so many others in the world too.
That's why I will change and think of her and him and others too,
It's not all about me and definitely not all about you.

Honey, all you think of is money, but what if you lost every dime you had today?

Would you be able to live on, speak words other than 'me' and 'I'?

Does it matter to you, the woes and troubles others in the world go through?

Or is being the center of attention so important, that when you don't get your way, the whole world will fall apart at your feet?

Trust me, there is so much more to life,
you have so much more to learn and to grow and independence to gain,
cause right now, at your tender young age, you may think you rule it all,
but in reality, you're not that tall.

And if you keep on this way,
surely,
you
will
fall.
