Heron (Cinquain)

Missing image

                He blends

                     almost fully

                into the pull of tide

long neck arched above folded wings

                                     Heron

Hey, first: Don't say that this is a bad example for a cinquain and have us take a look, if you want a bad one, I'll write one for you, lol. I don't know, I liked it.

On another note: That DeAnges got right down indignant didn't he/she, lol. I like it when people get all indignant and imperial and use words like "disqualified" and "not following rules." I just want to tickle them under the chin and go, "Who's the grumpy little man/girl, coochie, coochie coo." Will you please enter my Cow contest so I can disqualify you too.

Well done, I like the form, the Cinquain like the Heron is graceful in its design. An apt discription of the Heron and well written.

    Hi Cheryl,
I been poking around looking for a poem to inspire a Haiku for your contest and came acros this lovely Cinquain. I have a picture of a swan on the water and may use it. It will be hard to be as descriptive as you have been with this Heron.
    Cheers and s

Cheryl, you and your birds. This was well written. It gave a near flawless description of the Heron. Near because there is so much more that could be said, but hey, this is a Cinquain, right. This one rocks.

I usually don't like when cinquains speak of nature, but you did it very well.

Beautiful, peaceful image you created with this Cinquain. We have Great Blue Herons where I live, and I enjoy watching them wade knee deep into the ocean and fish. This is exaclty the scene you portrayed for me in this write.

Thank you. I enjoyed doing it. I live in San Antonio, Texas, and go to the Gulf of Mexico often to see all types of herons. Birding is one of my hobbies......and being able to put the two hobbies together was great fun. Thanks for the chance and the kudos.
