Yellow bricks and haunting songs
pave a lonely twisted road
as Elton sings to Judy's ToTo,
whose bark confirms the ugly truth,
that vacant bars and bottled gins
simply hide one ugly fact
that wizards wise do not exist
but merely ply their caustic dreams
supplying pills and frothy brews
that drive your mind beyound
thefringe of greens and crystal castles high
as pleasant comes your daily fix
life and time ebbs away
between the truth and disney land.

yeah, I love it.
go figure. the ending is just about as perfect in my eyes as can be, as I really hate disneyland. most californians do, honestly. such a rip-off. sigh.
now that I got that off my chest
, I thank you for taking the time to enter, and I wish you all the best.
love,

Well
written and I really like the unusual and descriptive way you describe addiction in this piece. Very clever and enjoyable read, especially those last two lines!

thank you so much
I really enjoyed this one because the wizard of oz was my fav movie. I was scared to death of that wicked witch and those monkeys.
