You sit there in that heavenly pose
suspended in the star lit skies,
a point for us to ponder on
love's muse in that bright disguise.
You are every poet's sure point
when thoughts he cares to scheme,
as in the words he paints a poem
divulged to him in sparkling dreams.
Guided the three wise men of old
to a rock hewn manger's plot,
bringing those costly gifts from afar
to honor the living child of God.
And up in those heavens so high
in the realm of darkened mass,
your light shines burning so bright
still used by man as a simple compass.
You are the brightest star in the sky
you've shone your eternal light through time
Are you that angel Cherubim
watching us like a sentinel that's divine?
