V.I.P. Entrance (I'm The Star)

A looong line of inconvenienced grumblers
I don't care
I saunter through the doors

There's no need to flash my badge when everybody knows this smile

Author notes

My school has new security measures. One of them being that after 8:15 AM, you can only go through one door, and you must have your school ID to get in. Since I don't have a first period, I don't get in until around 9:30, and since I always arrive after 8:15, the guy lets me through without my having to take out my wallet. This just popped in my head today as I skirted the line and made my way through

Critique me please? I mean, really critique me. If you didn't like something about it, for the love of a deity, TELL ME. I can take it if it will help me get better.

It is good to be known, good to have that place where we can feel known. Even if it is school, lol. Things have changed since I was your age. No security measures at all back then, but life got scarier after 9-11 and all the school shootings.

Nothing really bad happened around our area that would warrant strict security measures, but apparently over the summer the school was inspected by the state and they deemed it insecure and unsafe and would close it if they didn't change. The halls and lockers were painted brighter colors, they got brighter lights that make you blind if you glance up, plus the doors. Truthfully, I think it's too much of a hassel, considering that my grade level office that I do have to sign in at if I'm late is clear on the other side of the building, and then I have to walk back to the front for my class.

I really loved this one. It was short and sweet, almost like you're too important to be really wordy with it. It definitely backs up the whole star feeling. The extra o's kind of threw me off a little but I don't think it's a major thing. It helps to back up the fact it was a huge line. great short poem
