There is no better place
in the surface of the earth,
where red headed children
search for a pot of worth,
at the end of a rainbow
they laugh and have fun,
trying to steal the gold
from the grinning leprechaun.
Amid dale and meadows
full of bent green leafy tree,
over still running brooks
as they laugh with such a glee,
searching for those tiny fairies
amid the lime green shamrocks,
that grow wild amid grassy ledges
and those stone gray rounded rocks.
And when dusk starts to set in
they all go skipping back alone,
Yes this is their lovely Ireland
A great place to call their home.
The Home of good St.Patrick
who drove all the snakes out ,
of fairies and of leprechauns
And that shamrock- luck sprouts.
Of checkered kilts and bagpipes
and that dreaded mutton hagis
Of old castles and Stonehenge
and of pagan worship I shall miss.
AN I am not even Irish but I love their culture-
it is exciting to say the least!

This poem was going so well until the last verse which seem to describe Scotland and England though I'll let bagpipes slide 'cause in Ireland we have Uilleann pipes which are similar.
Other than that the poem flowed well. Thank you for entering the contest. -
I went back in and made a correction on that misconception I put in there deliberately so I wont get any more notes about it !lol check it out?

I'm sorry, but you are so wrong. Braveheart came from Scotland.
