It was always the smell
that caught me off guard
earthy and solid
a thing not made
of imagination
but of life and creation
outside the power
of these two hands
more sensual than humanity
in its natural essence
green could always
invade my senses
and fill me with hope
the idea of growth and nature
how humanity cowered in its presence
always

"earthy and solid
a thing not made
of imagination
but of life and creation
outside the power
of these two hands"
i love your tone & thoughts - there's so much to like within each line of this poem...you have honored nature perfectly here...
thank you so much for entering.

It never stops making me cry how many shades of green there are. You haven't lost your touch.

I like this, the sensory leap with rain releasing smells.
I'm no longer going to worry about names - just recognise the beauty when I find it. This is gorgeous.

You should not be asking for anyone's forgiveness when you've only offered serenity and beauty, Scribe. Good luck in the contest.

i think it's earthy and it is you... it's from your heart and eyes, therefore it is all that is good..

i want to do this contest too.. hoping to get inspired and just have
