Picture Perfect

Your life, his life, her life
A picture perfect scene
Until the ink spills
And chaos ensues

The black lake grows quickly
Consuming any color in its path
And the once perfect portrait
Is slowly becoming no more

You can try to hide the imperfections
By wiping everything away
But your attempts are futile
And all you do is stain your designer clothes

Inch by inch it creeps through every fiber
Seeping through to your soul

You just have to run away- FAST
Don't look back
Before you, too, become part of the collection
The black pages hanging on the Devil's wall

Find a new surface to draw on
And start over..
