Our faces

                                                            In Life, there's Death
                                                                In Death, there's Nothing.

    Except the contempt we hold for life.  And beating hearts and pulsing veins.  The whites of eyes standing stolid against opaque skin.  And the veins of necks went Blip- Blip.

Like Radar.

    Strong smiles showed shattered dreams with faded teeth.  The smile of someone holding back their own pity.  For their failures.  And still you bat eye lashes to  expunge  tears.  You know their feeling oh so well.

    And, you mutter, "The world wont wait for you,
                                  So let's get going, 'cause we can,
                                  And will do it."

    But the world stayed silent.  Dreams of little boys and girls withered into the Never-Ender.  But, we collected pieces of broken dreams, shattered homes, and fragmented hearts.  And we didn't do it for any reason except we knew what it was like to wear the same faces day after day.  But it still wasn't an escape; not that it mattered to Us, but, it just would'a been a nice perk.  To sit down and say that it's all been repaid.

                    But-
                          There was no repay
                          Not for these such injustices.

    And the Blackened Terra swallowed lives up.  Like that old riddle.  What a not-so-big-suprise, how the world was to die.

                    - By our Hand;
                          How amazing.

    As if we couldn't screw up enough, now we were making an end to our own suffering.  A pre-determined fate for those who have no say.

                    And all I can whisper is,
                                                        "Sorry, but we can't change it;
                                                          Not now..."

Author notes

Funny thing is I have been saving these poems for a while now. But who'da thought something like the word of the day would have put it to us!

    Well this is a very truthful write indeed, the world wont wait and nothing can be done about that. We must grab the Bull by the proverbial horns and make due with what we have been allowed. Very well written and I'm glad I was able to let you dust off an old write and show it to us. best of luck... Scott
