As tears fall
the rainbow grows,
as children fall
the Father knows.
They will grow!
They will rise above themselves,
put their wants upon the shelves.
The Father knows!
He put them where they need to be,
He gave them Spirit so they can see.
The Father knows!
Where He is, someday they'll be,
image of royalty.
The Father knows!
He is patient, He is kind
Hallowed be thy name,
He is above the mortal mind
directing to reclaim.
The Father knows!
the rainbow grows,
as children fall
the Father knows.
They will grow!
They will rise above themselves,
put their wants upon the shelves.
The Father knows!
He put them where they need to be,
He gave them Spirit so they can see.
The Father knows!
Where He is, someday they'll be,
image of royalty.
The Father knows!
He is patient, He is kind
Hallowed be thy name,
He is above the mortal mind
directing to reclaim.
The Father knows!

I really like this!
This shows the wisdom of the Father in loving His own and bringing them to maturity, as they depend on Him for spiritual growth. God is so patient and so merciful with us. -
Wonderful!
This is grand! I love it! The repetition of "the Father knows" shows Gods presence always there, always constant.
Powerful in the simple language! De profundus!
I would not change anything!

Iron Maiden have a song called ''Hallowed be thy name'', though theirs is about being in prison and lost hope. Yours is a more uplifting poem, of children reaching for a higher order, learning the ropes of life to get them through, and all while having guidance from above. Rhyme here is spot on and your poem is indeed beautifully written. Thanks for sharing and take care.

Excellent
A beautiful write with perfect rhyme and flow. Wonderfully penned, Sis
It's hard to escape the Creator of all things, because He knows what we are going to do tomorrow and until our final hours.

It Speaks Volumes
Well written, full of hope and confident assurance that because He knows and is in charge we can cast our cares on Him.

Yes He knows
who holds His name in reverence & who doesn't. He guides & directs & loves us all even when we don't love Him. What an awesome Father we have & what a Savior!

Lovely sentiment Kathy. All the best in the contest.
Father have mercy on us all for our ignorance.

The Father does know. We are in the dark in this world. It would be foolish not to ask Spirit to help us.
Good rhythm:
'He is patient, He is kind
Hallowed be thy name,
He is above the mortal mind
directing to reclaim.'

I ♥ this and I needed to hear it

what a powerful poem! my favorite line of all time was 'they will grow!' i'm going through a tough growing time right now myself, so it's great to be reminded. The father knows! is also a great thing to remember. If there was a rating on this site, I'd diffinatly give this poem a 10. Really great write.
God Bless

I think what I like most about this poem is that, while obviously religious in tone, it's not blandly so. I'm not Christian, but the one thing I've noticed is a lot of people who write poems about their god tend to write with very bland, contrived verses, as if they took pieces of other poems and assembled them together in slightly different ways and called it new. You didn't do that here, so I salute you for that. Well done.
