Hey there

I reaize I shouldn't write late
but it seems the way the cookie crumbles.
The sun speeds too fast,
too eager
to finish
and the sky becomes a racetrack
the clouds skid-marked and caught up
int the whirlwind, the rush
of speed
the chase of hours.
We dance around below,
watch the progress
in our own way
watching, but unseeing.
I want to pay more attention
to small details
and today I noticed a fire hydrant
red and ready
for crisis
and I could not decide whether it had just been put there or
if it was there all along
and I just opened my eyes.
I saw rhe moon tonight,
the first beautifully, blissfully cool
night
since early last spring
and I feel the possibilities float over me
this night like any other that I have known
and been eager for
and felt alive in.
and here I am typing away.
The moon saw me too,
fierce lover that I am,
and I felt the pull
as I always do
to have another try
to make a new
moment
in space and time that I will remember
like I remember all other nights that have been moments
under the moon's influence,
it is so much easier to just blame it all on (lunar pull),
and my fascination always overtakes reason
even when I know the consequences.
So for this I thank you,
moon and your (lunar pull),
for the choices I make with
rather then without you.
