The Rook Who Woke Sunrise

Missing image
Castles...Oh, the stones weigh too heavy on my mind
and the wedgings, they interrupt my sighs...

But your pillar need not worry as it strengthens eaves
As it firms the corners I call sanctuary.  No, do not subside~

Into the pallors of bathos
Do not build walls in hurry as you pledge stem to wine.
Never cast your weight in model of those tumbled, left behind.

Your reds are cherry, in offered bouquets of rube~gem...
Let me open those inner chambers sunk low;
let me be missionary to your hymn.

Carved~I railed against the morning that would deplete me;
I closed the bridge and deepened the mote.
But you, in silver climb, in determined heave
wrestled with moon and engaged the cinders stacked with time.

                        And I let go...bathed  in tremors of wild sun
                        Beheld the rising as more than heaven; wrapped in
                        guaze of feint gold, wailed for escape and folded
                        into your damask of god~blood, no questions asked.

The moon has renamed itself midnight;
it's claim has meandered through the pathos
of once begun...

And my warm center, like the heat in June
calls out to be distilled, shouts to be consumed...
Not as peak to flight without return;
nor as limb without new leaf and nettled vee.

My innocence mounts me
disregards the ash gathered in hearth
of rooms too long cold...

And house speaks in sacred~burn.

    How beautifully you capture sensuality through nature and inner rumblings. I loved your opening lines. They are strong - powerful in recognizing self worth - much like the strength of a pillar.
    A beautiful work my friend. Very pleased to see this recognized with a trophy. I loved it. ~Pamela
