Ah! Look. Look fondly and kind
on the skin that shapes me, the blood that fuels me,
and the sentence that beats beneath my fingers.
And, like the glove that hides my finger-faces,
my skin swallows every indentation of character:
the bones that strengthen my resolve;
the sinew that allows me moral movement.
This face, this wrinkled mass of organs and senselessness,
is a dowry -
from me, to you.
