My friend I will surely enter,
for my heart bruised it’s self purple
and is empty in the center.
Let me in your band lonely heart,
for my love is lost when searching
through barren trees AND sweets too tart
for armor to ease misery.
Take ME in dear Sgt. Pepper,
if you could glance at my heart beat,
not even cobwebs would hide there,
for bitter’s a home without heat.
Where is your lonely hearts club band?
I see you are the only member.
Just softly hold my empty hand;
we could be lonely TOGETHER.

Inspired by Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by the Beatles

Dedicated to the Sgt. Pepper in my life. His heart is lonely and my heart is lonely, so why can't the words 'you and me together' come true?

I like that a lot! I'm sad that this couldn't be in my contest either! I should join the band as well with my record...Great piece and the bright side to not being in the contest is you don't have to do anything in particular to be rewarded with smileys. Yea!

Ahhh wonderful!
My husband (like everyone else in the world I guess) loves the Beatles. I'm not a Beatles fan, actually - though who can resist their lyrics? I love renditions of their songs by modern bands. It's just their sound I didn't like.
Anyhow, I'm rambling because I'm tired. Your poem is spectacular. I think Lennon would be proud.

I'm not too familiar with The Beatles, as iconic as they will always be, but I know talent when I read it, and you've got it in spades, Cassie. This pays fine homage to their artistry. I have absolutely no doubt your name WILL appear on many record labels in the future. You didn't find art; it found you.

Thanks. Your comments really boost my confidence. My sucky job at the local Neiman's makes me realise that I can't do that for the rest of my life. I want to live by doing something I love. I don't know how to go about getting my work seen by those all important eyes, but this is really motivating me to do so. Your words really help. Though I will always question if I'll ever be good enough you and others on this site help me not only get better but have the courage to try. And anyway, the Beatles even started out small, wondering if they doing what they love would ever get them anywhere. Maybe I could too. they inspire me in so many ways. They lit up my dark time, and even tough I would love it if everyone enjoyed their magic, i know that they are not for everyone. They came at the perfect time in my life, they gave me hope and something to always hold on to. they gave me art. Thanks again, you really made my day worth it all.
