Does a crownless prince have the right to rule?
Does a swordless knight have the right to defend what is precious to him?
The answer to both is yes.
It all depends on those that would tell the prince or the knight that they bear no right to their titles.
Thus the prince is left with no kingdom.
And the knight, no honor.
Death seems to smile at their failures.
She welcomes them with her open arms.
But, there is another. One who is almost unseen.
The Prince offers this unseen thing his nobility.
The knight offers this unseen thing his protection.
Death does not have her way.
She, with all her beauty and temptation, lost out to a simple girl, disheveled and tear-stained.
The prince and the knight are as one, and this man reveres that girl.
He shields her from those that would take her from him.
The prince now has a glorious crown atop his head. The knight, he now has a magnificent sword in his hands.
All for that one, simple girl.
There is a word for them.
That word is love.
Do you not agree?
Since then, that simple girl became a princess and a thing of reverence.
