    this could be read as a simple opposing of materialistic values, coinciding with consciousness and the strive to be "one" with everyone.

    The sun in this case is the humanity that we all share and "you" is the corporate world we live in?

    This also could be taken in a religious sense. I could see a christian using this as justification for only reading the bible for spiritual guidance. "why block yourself from the light?, shouldn't you go straight to the source?"

    or it could be examined in the literal sense; a relationship which does not promote pleasure..
