The Poets Chaperone

People are too good
For this World and by Gods Grace
May our pens prove it

I feel like my character has been accused
and impugned by the misfortune of not
being able to choose the kind of company
I  would prefer  to keep. Rich, kind, loving
generous people, of course!
Indeed, many peole today have been so
brutalized by society that they no longer
feel worthy of being invited into decent
society if such a society ever existed, but
I believe there are many who have tried
to form a kinder, gentler Nation.

Many people today believe we can
continue to borrow money and go in debt
as long as a healthy balance is maintained
between supply and demand. Why must
money be paid back? Because somebody
worked for it? really? And why work at
all if you can live for free?. And where
does it end' What about the environment?
We need leaders with vision who can
clarify and explain these problems. Go Green!

Please tell me what you think

    Great Poem Wesley

Hello dear friend. You bring up quite a few good points about our society and the accumulating debt that seems to never end. I fear the chickens will come home to roost on the backs of my grandchildren. Maybe with God's grace a miracle will come about. Going green is a great idea but it has to be a global adventure with all counties or it wont work and be in vain. Gee, we can't even agree on health care in this country let alone being green. I will get of my soap box now.

Thank you for sharing this thoughtful poem. GREAT write! Hugs and Smiles to you.

    Always, Sandy

    Hi Wesley

It has been a long time since I visited your poems...this one is especially true in so many ways...I like the last line[s]...

"We need leaders with vision who can
clarify and explain these problems. Go Green! "

    this is so very true

Take care and stop in some time...Darlene
