Poetry Is larger than I

I shall go forth to give a resemblance
Though note the futility of this apprentice
I cannot measure nor weigh what I cannot bore
As if Icarus around helicon soar.

Poetry is larger than I
I am forever a traveler walking by.

Just as sublime passion, my words implore
They are a grain of sand on a shore
But do not overstep and surmisse
They are born and reborn to meet no demise.

Simply poetry is larger than I
I am but a glisten in its eye.

Author notes

Its been a long time since I have been satisfied with one of my works and I feel I could not have written this better. this is the best I can do on this thought I had.
