Ophelia

I once knew a girl
So frail and so fair
As soft and fragile
As the flowers in her hair
Holding the weight of her world
Until it was more than she could bare
And she fell into my hands
In the midst of my despair

They say they saw you by the river
They say you were alone that night
I remember, I saw you by the river
I remember, I thought I held you tight

Can you really say
I ever left you?
Can you really say
I never cared?
Can you really say
Life isn't worth
Living in repair?

I thought I saw you by the river
I thought I spoke words I'd never say
But I watched myself let go
Then I felt you drift away

Ophelia...
