This is me
Standing limply at your door
With my confidence on the floor
You deny me
This is me
For forgiveness I’m pleading
For a sinful life I was leading
You reject me
This is me
Struggling for urgent change
You began to think me strange
You pity me
This is me
If I knew what I knew today
All those knives I wouldn’t say
You saw me
This is me
Like a lamb to the slaughter
I always did sought her
You eyed me
This is me
Deteriorating my core’s health
While you’re building godly wealth
You outdo me
This is me
Asking one last time
Your eyes turned sublime
You understand me
This is me
Life with or without you
Love your heart I always do
You refuse me
This is me
You have to understand fast
These words will be my last
You watermarked me
This is me
My dying wish you just split
Lie to your heart you always did
You confuse me
This is me
Breathing my last breath
This cancer was my death
You love me
What did you think

"You watermarked me" - loved that, beautiful phrase, son!! Loved the reflective and sometimes contradictory quality of this poem... a deep one. Jaa, such is life and love, and sometimes we don't have the answers, but the joy is in the learning, in the journey...
Lekker om te sien jy is so talentvol!!

Your phrase "you watermarked me" is stunning, as it is so very vivid an image. One must first love and accept themselves before others can or will, and if one loves themselves enough, they will refuse to settle for less than they deserve. And you, Poet, deserve ever more than you might imagine possible.
