Shaken

Shaken,
the side of the lumberyard office
said,
greeting passersby
afoot to the train or bus--
not Stirred, to those stirring
(and not too oblivious)
Just Shaken, in a rather
interesting
paint-can hand.

Shaken what?

Shaken up
Shaken down
You do the hokey-pokey?
Shake -n- Bake.

Most times the dots of genius
connect
to nothing at all...

    Congratulations...

Congratulations on your Gold Trophy. Your are correct and sometimes the dots to genius don't connect, they just happen.

Thanks. It takes quite an IQ to produce a palindrome to order, so you're something of an expert, I imagine.

Also, most times the dots of genius do not bother to connect to anything too.

I considered adding something like 'Or do they?' to the end, but that seemed too weak. Sometimes the dots add up to nothing. At other times, they only seem to add up to nothing, but are in fact, profound, and a lot is garbage being passed off as brilliance.

Even genius usually fails to spot the diamonds in the coal, though people make a shaky living by accumulation.

Clever interpretation of the prompt, I like those last lines and it reminds me of that old saying that there is a fine line between genius and insanity...guess that may mean when we see it we find it hard to believe it. Thank you for the entry C
