I love his crazy
free style haikus,
something he picked up
at the Seminary
back in the late 90's.
And I remember Ma,
she said to me,
she said,
"What you want wit him, Des?"
(He once aspired to be a man of the cloth ya know)
Course I know that.
But I've always had a thing for holy men.
Anyway, he treats me like a queen,
loves serving me breakfast in his little bicycle shorts,
the ones with the St Mary's cross on the left cheek.
And with Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears
playing in the background
he banged me off the walls
and did this swirly thing with his thumb.
"You pick that up at the seminary?" I asked.
He just rolled his eyes
and blessed me
with a golden shower.

Hey you! Haven't heard from you in ages. You been by to see UB? I'm not around that much myself anymore. Sort of not writing that much anymore. It happens i guess. Good to see you though.

Golly gee. And most things are in the key of g. Which is a holy line of thought prayerful and all. If one was to be holier than thou but then of course one could just walk around in a long t shirt but trust me not in the seminary. Though sermons can work the tongue to exhaustion one in the course of human events finds more enlightenment in the twist and turns of wordless exploration which I've been told can lead to spiritual epiphanies. The antithesis of this would be much the same as I'm sure you would agree.

well....i heard of progressive seminary schools...
and according to your notes...
he aced them all!
not a big fan of golden showers
but hey-to each their own-
it does prove a point
it's what's under the cloth
that truly makes a man?

can I just respond by saying this prompted a wry smile from me?

Steinbeck in Grapes of Wrath points out that preaching is a stressful business and fills you with the spirit. You become entangled in the glory and find yourself bringing richness and wonder to some fine member of your flock. Or some such thing, but getting laid always manages to bring the man back to who he is. You finding yourself dancing with the delights of his oratory only add to the sublime wonder of his lessons at the Seminary. Delightful. You might want to look at what the gays call the golden shower hour.

Peace,
Tom B.
