Spring Fever

Written 09.10.09

The snow has melted away,
and the sun's warming the day.
The flowers are breaking through,
and the world is feeling new.
The sky is so bright and clear,
and now it's feeling so new.
But now on this new spring day,
my heart's saying I can't stay.
I feel it tugging, wanting.
The gates around are taunting.
My soul, it just keeps running,
my heart, it won't stop lunging,
but there's no where I can go,
and the days are passing slow.
And my heart says I can't stay,
but I just can't find my way.
Longing, needing, almost full,
and still I'm feeling the pull!
My heart's saying I can't stay,
but I still don't know the way.
Days keep getting longer,
and the pull will get much stronger
until the end of spring
when my heart is finally free.

Wow, a very intriguing write. After the first six lines it made a total turn around in a different direction into a sort of desperate darkness and the last line turns it around once again to give the reader a sense of hope. Beautiful write
