Of the muse's desire, you and I come together
where pen and flesh tangle with demon delight.
Two leisurely birds of a fine Scottish feather
explore in the chamber of carnal endeavor,
where I am your lady and you are my knight.
Of the muse's desire, you and I come together,
extol the vast virtues of lace and of leather
and boned cotton corsets, so pressing and tight!
Two leisurely birds of a fine Scottish feather:
our love is a freefall; our lust is a tether,
demanding our flesh while our spirits take flight.
Of the muse's desire, you and I come together
and in Her protection, no threat be the weather;
no headwind can harm what our love can ignite.
Two leisurely birds of a fine Scottish feather:
We conquer all reaches (the high and the nether)
to find that no matter, it's well worth a write!
Of the muse's desire, you and I come together,
two leisurely birds of a fine Scottish feather.

You have cast me in a spell
With this second villanelle
I wrote one, and I was DONE.
You, you wrote a second one!

LOL!
I have written many villanelles; this is my favorite form - feminine and fun, but I need to practice blending the refrains more effectively. I love reading them as much as writing them; feel free to send me to yours!
Thank you for your comment.

delightful and clever
. . . this feather-lightful endeavor.

Thank you.
For some reason, I see no option to rate your comment at present, so I will thank you here for taking the time to read my work. Villanelles are always fun to craft, and this one, particularly so. Glad you enjoyed it.
