He's a bit shy, except with words
His name is legendary
at least at his home
He has a dog
occasionally he feeds it a bone
But, mostly he writes
unless adjusting insurance
or doing what Claudia tells him
or petting the dog again..and again
He seems happy
most of the time
but occasionally he gripes
although not much
about having writers block
or some such
You see he can bend you over his knee
with the words he writes
Twist your tail and tell it right
He's a political writer and a people man
and if'n your his friend
He will offer his hand
Mark Rickerby is his name
certainly a writer of some fame
who tells it like it is
and at writing he's a whiz
Read some of his poems
more like news-reels
then poetry, but they rhyme
most of the time
You may not agree with his politics
nor even his ideas of the world
but certainly you must admire
his writing ability
and his bond is his word
