The first rose was a token
of the time we shared
The second rose a symbol
that yes, I still was there
The third rose showed a blessing
as another door was closed
and with yet another meeting
there came a new fourth rose
The fifth rose was quite special
five years had now gone by
A sixth rose, an interruption
but then yes, another try
A seventh rose now scenting
the place and our new start
Eighth rose becoming symbol
that we would never part
A birth came with the ninth rose
our family growing strong
A ten rose symbolizing
you're right here where you belong
An eleventh rose now standing
by the fire, soothing warm
When tomorrow brings our twelfth rose
we'll have overcome all of life's storm
