Song of the mountain Sept 2009
There is a mountain far away
That God alone has planned
A sentinel that only those
In love can understand
It whispers gentle messages
Across a silent sea;
“You’ll never be alone again
My love has set you free”
In all my mortal wanderings
I’ve listened to the song
That the lonely mountain sings
And know where I belong
The eagle’s cry is nothing less
Than the sighing of a dove
My life is nothing without you
I am blessed within
Your love

How very beautiful.
I first read this as the places and sounds of nature, being the places that you love and where your heart & you belong, and the sounds that sometimes can be heard as seemingly lonely ...perhaps like an "eagles cry", are actually the sounds that make you at home, alive, nurtured and loved.
And now on re reading, it seems it could be interpreted in a couple of other ways also.
In fact...it's that very depth, and variant of possibility, I think, that I love about reading your work.
And....each possibility, is just as beautiful.
Love it !!
