One of Those Fridays

I woke up early to attend college.
I got my niece ready.
Boy, what a morning.
My phone got suspended,
And I proceeded to pay a past due.
"Don't do it,"Says Anjali.
So I stop making a payment.

I got up earlier as usual
To practice for speech class.
Together the professor and I
Came up with an idea for my informative.

"Looking forward to hearing it,"
Says my professor with a smile.

I stay to chat with someone
"Your outfit is ugly"
So sweet of her.

Went to Chinese class,
And took a test.
Shortly after, we practiced dialouge.
I know how to say the F- word in Chinese.

Another break
Chatted with two Haitian boys.
Friendly people and we talked of our future plans
When we leave college.

Speech class arrived.
I heard others speak.
People are very revealing
About their personal stories.
I read aloud a speech by Tecumseh,
But not as good as I'd have liked to.

Ethics class,
A frickin' bore
About Plato's Republic,
The longest part of my day.

I found a genuine friend on the bench.
We had an engaging conversation.
We talked of henna, culture, our families
And so forth.
We are lots in common.

My sister went to pick me up
So I wouldn't have to take the train home.
In  lieu, I'd babysit her daughter.
My niece and I watched DVDs of "The Lucy Show"
Until the day could conclude.

I took out the trash
And loaded the diswasher.
I'm stressed out for tomorrow.
