An invincible juvenile
sustaining wounds
that were easily healed
lessons just splashed away
Now invincible and vulnerable
injuries to body and mind
they will still heal but
now spur thoughts and questions
A few decades now mortal
bursting through the front door
as excited as surprised
what is my mission?
Now slipping in the back door
feeling like an intruder
had the right to be here
but questioned the worthiness
Today mortally aware
The future is a mystery
I will not be surprised
My lessons I will share
