a fine start to the season;
with summer over, autumn's here
but this is beyond reason.
It's the hottest day of the year
doesn't seem at all just right;
people in pools, sunning themselves
a fire for sure could ignite.
Unusually hot, not typical weather,
Not complaining at all; couldn't be better.

It really did hit 34 on the first day of autumn. Loved it! Broke records - hottest day ever for this day.

We did have a wonderful fall...I remember talking to my son south of you and he was mentioning how hot it was that day...Snow followed a week or so later.....Good to be reading your work again, friend.!

Since 34 isn't hot in California I must assume your temperatures are in Celsius. September is often the warmest month of the year here so I can relate to this cute poem. The last gasps of summer are welcome since we know that it will be at least nine months before we dive in again. Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz

Don't be TOO happy!!!
It aint gonna last!

Beautiful! =] Your poem resonates with warmth and gratefulness for the godsend of a few last days of summer. I definitely felt the warmth and definitely enjoyed it!

We alway want all a season has to offer
Some seasons mor is what we wish for, while others waht it all to change...mac

"It's 34 degrees today" Celsius or Farenheight?
If it's farenheight you must be a home sick eskimo Heheheh
If it's celsius that's a wonderful warm start to Autumn
Either way your poem was an enjoyable read with good rhyme and flow.
Good luck in the contest.

Yep, if global warming is true (and man-made), I think most people will love it right up until they see that tsunami rolling toward them. lol We had a 104f degree day yesterday here in L.A., too. Very strange for late September.

34 degrees? Must be Celsius, only polar bears would be swimming in this temperature Fahrenheit! The odd temperatures are often puzzeling, one never knows what to expect! Nice observational poem,
Write on!
