What about the ice? Is it very thick?
Will it treat us nice? I can see it's slick.
Slip and slide all day, sledding, running, slide.
Then the sun would stay, wetting up the ice.
Pricey risk to take, sliding far out there,
Ice could risk a break, gliding without care.
Dare to walk out there, as you wonder who,
Share and talk then stare, cracks right under you.
In the deep, so cold, coming up for air.
In so deep, no hole, I'm no polar bear.
I could surely die, where did I fall through?
Life before my eyes, here am I all through?
I push on the ice, luckily it breaks,
I just saw my life, luckily it's safe.
We were scared that day, we were soaking wet,
We were there to say, ice, no joke, a threat.
Author notes
True story. Fell through ice once with a friend, no one else was around. Some deep water too, it was scary then but we're okay now. lol.
