My safety nets unravel
and I crumble
at the sight of you.
My heart sinks
into my sneakers
when your eyes
stare through me.
I'm transparent,
invisible,
glass that shatters
under your disregard.
Your laughter
slices my lungs
and I asphyxiate,
unable to catch
my breath as you turn
your back to me.
I would condemn you
to this non-existence
but my traitorous heart
forbids indifference.

Strong
Been a while since I've seen some of your stuff popping up!
This is an excellent piece. Very strong, the word choice is excellent.
Machinery would be proud

I love the "heart sinks into my sneakers" line. Glad to see something new from you, sis!

I felt every single word of that. Good writing!
