Crossing Magnolia

Missing image

Can you believe
it finally has come
to be this day ?

When all the children
laugh, as they run and play.

Gathering candy along the way...

Listen as our mother says,
stay to the east, going to the west,

Crossing Magnolia,
where the candy is the best!

Snickers, Twisters,

Jolly Ranchers,

boxes of nerds,

gummy bears,

chocolate kisses,

All those candy

pumpkins & corn,

carmel candies

pecan sandies,

then there's those

healthy snacks

no-one misses.

Yummy candies

all shapes and sizes

treats and much,

much more...

toys, pencils,

plastic jewlery

Knocking on everydoor
from the top of buildings,
through malls,
and along the shores.

Knocking, knocking
on every door,

Once, then twice and back again.

Until our bags were filled up to our chin.

Costumes, masks some scary, but most are friendly,

Some visiting even more.

Crossing Magnolia then home again.

Spreading the candy about on the floor... looking what we collected today.

Wishing it was more!

This took me back many years. I had to chuckle at the ending. No matter how much we got, we always wanted more. But there was always, always, that one unwrapped popcorn ball that stuck to everything.

I almost forgot those sticky yummy gueie things! Popcorn Balls!

Do people still make those? That was a fun time! We never worried about the dangers of a bad person giving us something posion - Just those unwanted healthy snacks, I remember some people would give us pennies. Back then that was a big deal!

We still live in a pretty decent area where most of our neighbors have kids that go to the same school,

The malls are great here also - every store has candy or prizes to give the kids, makes it really nice here. Thank you for reading and commenting on me,
      Sincerely,
      Cheryl
