I Do but Dare

What is not there
I do but dare
to creatively appear
upon the mirror
within my mind
for like to find,
who tread unknown
with thought to own.

What is not there
is mine to snare,
to create in image
life's alternate scrimmage,
impossible dreams
or so it seems
until it's portrayed,
graphically displayed

What is not there
is but a scare
until fully visualized,
artistically realized,
smacked in the face,
no pencil to erase,
permanent India ink
revealing what I think.

What now is there,
imagination laid bare,
you may search and seize,
ponder and tease,
wander inside and out
until you want to shout,
"Eureka, I found it,"
pit wit against wit.

I DO BUT DARE
to create,
to discover what
ART IS...

Jayde, I do love your exuberant comments,
and the particular llines you choose as
      your favorites!

I had to end with the original line drawing
so the curious could read all the hidden
words in the "Thinking Woman's" head!

Ah, yes, the words so applicable to the
creation of music, as you alluded in
      your references. My accomplishments
in that area are a graceful G cleff, and
that is where they end. Although for
years I created an original youth summer
      theater musical production for hundreds.
I had staff for the music as I wrote the
      dialogue and assembled all together.
As you might guess, harder than it
      sounds!!!

      Thanks, Jayde!

    "What I cannot see is
more important than what I can see"

Umm, ok. I just write about stuff. lol

Well that is creativity to take the unknown and shape it into an image, (written or otherwise) that others can then grasp to some degree. Well that's true in theory anyway. Not sure it holds up in practice since I'm having trouble finding folk to grasp what is written.

I rather look at it from an insular point of view...I try to create something for the sake of creating it. I gave up long ago that anyone who care to take the time to understand it, or God for bid, actually like it.

I had looked up background info on Duane Michals
and found him to be a comtemporary to me who discovered
his talent for photography quite accidentally,
although he had dome graduate design study at Parsons.
One of his signature styles included handwritten notes
and commentaries on the finished prints.

Whadya mean, Yem? Taking the unknown and crafting it into
the incredible is your forte! And there are those of us who
immerse in the words to develop an understanding of where
you were taking the reader. You always said I was a smart critter---
so have I been missing the plots, the innuendos, the references?

Methinks you are too all inclusive with your "anyone" for there
are those of us who do appreciate your ponderings and dilligently,
day by day, search for new and more!!!

" 'Revered is the reader who prods and probes...' There you go, speaking of illusions!" Since when are you and many other readers an illusion?

Hope you fire up those two fingers and create storied dialogue on your
page--soon. Yeah, go "write about stuff," super commenter!!!
