sends my heart to flutter
to think of those
who have lost their other
their memory
stands unforgotten
for they are
the heroes
of our country
we will never
forget you
and will always
be wishing
that you return
to this shore
again,
safe and sound
do not believe
that any of us
have forgotten
about you
because we will keep searching
and praying for you
to return to America's
golden shores
no hero
stands unforgotten
and no hero
deserves to be left
all of us
will keep searching
for those of us that
have protected us
and served for us
we will never forget
the heroes
that risked and risk
their lives for us
every day

not one of my better poems, but the people who have died for this country-ANY country-deserve to be remembered, and those who are still listed as MIA/POW deserve for their memory to be kept alive
