You Can Close Your Eyes

You can close your eyes
And pretend that you don’t see
You’ve always preferred believing lies
To believing me

So close your eyes, kiss goodbye to what could’ve been
You don’t seem to realise, without you worlds can spin

My heart is beating again
But you’re too deaf to hear
Too blind to see.  Goodbye.  Amen!
The end is drawing near

Just close your eyes, don’t question why it has to end
It’s easier to skip goodbyes, continue to pretend

I’ve got nothing left to say
And you’ve told all your lies
I’m free to walk, to run away
You can close your eyes

Author notes

This is the first bit of poetry I’ve written in ages. I’m kinda worried I’ve forgotten how. So, please, be honest. What do you think?

This probably took a more lyrical form because I’ve been listening to my A.A.R. albums a lot recently and have their songs stuck in my head. Especially Swing Swing.

My AP name is J . P . T r o y
