I tread alone along this road,
The track we used to share,
Tasting bittersweet memories
amongst the foliage there
The landscape has not changed,
Morning glory just begins to bloom,
Each step seems harder, heavier
and lonely without you
The thorns dig in through my jeans
as I stumble down the path,
A marriage made in hell,
Behold the aftermath
The birds still sing in wonder
at the beauty of this place
and yet I can feel nothing,
Without you it's 'just a place'
Why else did I come here
but to sit alone and cry?
When in the earth all I can see
are the deepest brown of eyes
I stumble on the jagged rocks
of this path we used to share,
Remember nights of campfires
that we used to have here?
So many people trying to help,
Without you I am lost,
My tears are frozen shards of ice,
My skin crawls with the frost
I cannot help the bitter thoughts,
Yet you have no idea,
Until these thoughts become nothing
I'll find my solace here
Please tell me what you think

Here's a song by Joshua Radin
If you can listen to it...well worth it.
What If You
What if you could wish me away
What if you spoke, those words today
i wonder if you'd miss me, when i'm gone
Its come to this, release me
i'll leave before the dawn
but for tonight, i'll stay here with you
yes, for tonight, i'll lay here with you
but when the sun hits your eyes through your window
there'll be nothing you can do
what if you could hear this song
what if i felt like i belong
i might not be leaving (oh) so soon
began the night believing
i loved you in the moonlight
so for tonight, i'll stay here with you
yes for tonight, i'll lay here with you
but when the sun hits your eyes
through your window
there'll be nothing you can do
i could have treated you better, better than this
well i'm gone, this song's your letter:
i can't stay in one place
so for tonight, i'll stay here with you
yes, for tonight, i'll lay here with you
but when the sun hits your eyes through your window
there'll be nothing you can do.
