Isn't it funny how the moment you finally stop looking for something
it appears?
I'm a bird watcher who gave up on spotting a majestic bald eagle only to have one land on my shoulder as I take my first step to leave, the exhausted bar singer who finishes a final trembling note at their last gig who's approached by a music rep in the door, the parents of a little girl dying with leukemia who've given up on their baby living one more week when she finally responds to Kemo.
And for that,
I thank you.

He apologized. Random, out of the blue.
And I'm happy about it.

I like the way you wrote this, pondering something that happens all the time, but is an anomaly in each of our lives. Well written. I enjoyed this very much (it rings of a hopeful outlook).
