peacock

Missing image

her nerves tingled
          like the lashes
of a peacock feather

and she believed

      if a promise could
be moved by an artist

canvas would be honey glazed
with concepts of a

galaxy

and soft bristles

   would lick the light

           of a crystal prism

leaving the flavour

   within abstract

             images

for each mind to taste

this is rich in image, metaphor, wording and adjectives. the poem is deliciously thick and clotted - and I have enjoyed licking it all up! (if that doesnt sound too strange)

    great write Ms. Silverscent.

    mmm..
    oooh i love this.
it feels exactly like the way I want to feel when I'm painting a canvas (I recently started). To be completely lost within colours.. I am waiting for that day.
I love the way you've used the words.. the sensual artistic bliss just comes forth in a soft but powerful way.

    BEAUTIFUL!!!

Beautiful. I really don't know what else to say, this is just beautiful. That fourth stanza is brilliant and the last line punctuates the piece perfectly! Great job. Good luck in the contest!

i can be very ticklish, and this started me with that tingle up my spine as if feathers were slowly moving back and forth across my back... ok, that was jst a little side note.

readers take from another's poem things that they can understand, relate to... one of the real signs of a poet, to me, is the ability for readers to do just that through their senses and make-up.

you give that to us. thank you.

Yes, art is of the senses. Its appeal is there and how it moves us. It can draw us one way or another, cause us to theink and feel like never before and of new subjects that never crossed our minds. It can also make look at what we have inthe here and now in a new and better way, to appreciate.
You have portrayed this well with a sweet flow. Very well done.
