Unwritten Book

Under a blanket of words lies a forgotten story
Never able to show its face upon a ruled page
Weight of an untold sin wanders with misery
Reluctant to pen its pain and lock it in a blue cage,
Ink of truth slowly trickles onto the lifeless book
Torrent of emotion struggles to burst open its gate
Tucking away fears the past creeps out like a crook
Eclipsed moment, takes a breath awaiting its fate as
Nestled thoughts get ready to leave a bleak world behind;

But scars from the past not prepared to give up freedom
Oppose pen’s voice to spill the heaviness from its chest
Ocean of regret quickly retreats into a dark kingdom
Killing inner peace, sin and misery hand in hand take rest

    Very Nice

    A nicely rhymned poem of guilt and regrets winning out over the desire to be free of them.Sometimes people get hurt when a person bears their soul, persons who do not deserve to have the truth about you piled on their head.

    I loved this. Each perfectly chosen word, each mind-wakening description really drew me it. I liked how you personified the story and gave it such deep emotion behind it. The title led into the rest of the poem smoothly. And, although I really usually dislike rhyme scheme, I appreciated the way you did it. I did not feel like it was forced; while reading this write, the words flowed so wonderfully together. Thank you for sharing. I am glad I clicked

    This poem is deep and heartfelt. It says a lot in a few words. I really must say that this poem speaks profoundly to me. Great job!
